About Me

My name is Jenn, and at the time of writing this, I’m a 31-year-old mother of 1. I live on the north coast of Northern Ireland. One of the most iconic spots in the world. I was born and bred in a wee town called Bushmills, made famous for having the world oldest licensed distillery and being only six minutes, by car, to the Giants Causeway. I now live in a local town called Coleraine, with my 8-year-old son and my partner of 9 years.

For the past 4 years, I have worked in a well-known discount store. Not the job I had imagined myself doing but hey; that’s where I am and I’ve come to live with it and make the most of it. Before this, I have had a grand total of 4 jobs, a waitress, a sales assistant in a small grocery shop, a sales assistant very small discount shop run by a local couple and best job by far, for a very well known entertainment shop which, unfortunately, went into administration and had to close. A turning point in my, and the other 8 members of staffs, life didn’t see coming at all.

During my time working, I managed to make my way through Uni, studying Interactive Media Arts at the local University of Ulster. Which now I feel (to be honest) was a waste of time and money because I would probably have ended up exactly where I am today. Which, is a mother of an 8-year-old boy called Tom and the partner to a man I owe my life.

The reason for doing this blog is to help me become (or at least try to become) a better version of myself. I have found, that lately, I have been retreating back into myself and not being the person that I thought I was going to be.  Or even the person I am. I have put on quite a bit of weight in the past 3 years. Mainly due to motivation, or lack thereof, and just plainly eating way too much. I’m hoping that with this blog, it will get me in the right frame of mind to actually do something about getting rid of the excess weight that seems to have gathered around my midriff, and to help get me out from the dark cloud that seems to be following me around lately.

I’m hoping that because I have to think about my life and what exactly people would like to read about, that my mood improves, my sleep improves and my general lifestyle improves. There are many aspects of my life that I will disclose throughout this blog and many that I won’t. I just hope that the aspects I decide to disclose will be adequate enough for you to continue reading, commenting and maybe even to guide me in the direction I should be heading.

Thanks for reading
