Mountsandel Forest – 12/05/2019

Recently, we have been heading out to Springwell forest on the road out to Limavady for our walks so we thought we would spice it up a bit and head somewhere we haven’t been in so long. I can’t quite remember if I’ve done a post on this forest before so if I have and you see some of the same photos I’m very sorry. But I thought I would do one anyway saying that I haven’t written one in a while.

There are a number of reasons to visit this forest if you haven’t already done so… especially when the weather is like the way it was. If you are looking to read up on the area there are a number of websites such as the WalkNI and DiscoverNorthernIreland.

The weather was awesome so we thought we would have a wee dander around Mountsandel Forest, which is located along the Mountsandel Road on the Eastern bank of the River Bann. So, after collecting Amy for the weekend we took the long way home and parked up at the top entrance to the forest. Situated along the Mountsandel road the entrance to the forest can b very easily missed as the only sign for it is placed right at it. There are two paths that you can take when you enter at the end. One that takes you along the top and one that takes you along the bottom running beside the river Bann.

If you wanted you would be able to incorporate the two walks forming a circle. There is also an option to create a different route by using the steps to take you up onto the Fort. I think that’s all I’m going to say about the walk… I will let my photographs say the rest.

Anyway, friends, thanks for reading, hope you liked what you read and if you did please make sure to like, share, comment and if you have any suggestions please don’t hesitate to gimme a shout!  J xxx
