It’s that time of the year again… time to get your thinking caps on and to show or tell your mum or mother figure how you feel about them. Usually, I’m not really one for these type of holidays. I’m the sort of person who thinks you should be showing the people you care about the whole year through and not just on one day of the year.
The year however, I thought I would make a bit of an effort, show my mum how much she means to me and just how much I appreciate everything she’s done for me this past year. I know people are going to think that I’m being a little tight but as money is a little scarce at the minute I thought that I would try and make up a small hamper of things for her from Poundland, where I work. They have gotten some really nice things in this year just for the occasion and because of this I thought that I would do the same for my OH’s mum, Tom’s Granny V.
This year they seemed to have concentrated on the Mother Duck theme, having gotten in item such as novelty bath duck , bath bombs and shower caps which are shaped like them. The items I chose for my hamper include
- A vanilla and coconut scented candle
- A duck bath bomb
- A mother and baby bear keepsake
- a small bag of chocolate eggs
- either a mother bear or mother duck teddy
I think they look rather well if I do say so myself. Some people may look down on me because of the fact that I got the things from a pound shop and didn’t spend loads on items that I know my mum wouldn’t appreciate in the long run. I too be honest I that’s their opinion. If they want to spend loads of money then go ahead. I just don’t see the point. Not for one day.
